So as you read through the spiritual disciplines, really think about the purpose of spiritual disciplines.
Check out 1 timothy 4:7-8
It says train yourself to be Godly! Godly training has value for all eternity. That means that there is something that you can do that actually has lasting value. Where else can you get this kind of lasting return? Will you take the challenge that Paul issued to Timothy, and all those who are in Christ? Will you train yourself for Godliness?
